Reflect on some of our favorite memories of 2023!

January 2023- 

Decasonic kicked off the year with both an insightful Responsible Innovation workshop and a Stablecoins workshop. You can explore the content from these sessions by checking out the recordings on our YouTube channel.

Decasonic welcomed Venture Investor, Danny Pantuso, to the team. With a solid foundation in product-oriented expertise and a background deeply rooted in founding endeavors, Danny brings a dynamic perspective that enhances our capabilities in deal flow.

February 2023-

Decasonic's founder and CEO, Paul Hsu, attended the exclusive Satoshi Round Table in Dubai. There, he engaged with some of the brightest minds in the space, fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation.

The Decasonic team welcomed Lauren Tierney as the newest Venture Investor. Lauren firmly believes that the path to achieving widespread adoption of web3 lies in its ability to address a web2 challenge using web3 technology and significantly enhance individuals' daily lives.

In a continued commitment to advancing the discourse in Web3, Decasonic curated two additional workshops. The first delved into the intricate dynamics of the Creator Economy, while the second navigated the complexities of VC Token Deal Structuring.

Decasonic portfolio company Mawari announced their $6.5M fundraising to enable faster 3D content delivery for digital assets in the Metaverse. Check out Dean Takahashi's piece detailing the company's mission here.

March 2023- 

Team Decasonic traveled to Denver to check out this year’s ETH Denver where we met several impressive builders & Lauren Tierney hosted a compelling panel on the global mainstream adoption of web3.

Paul Hsu, founder and CEO of Decasonic, sat down with Jamie Burke on The Metaverse Podcast presented by Outlier Ventures to discuss the ever-evolving venture landscape and the concept of “100x Founder.”

Gaming is where Decasonic CEO, Paul Hsu, got his career's operating experience - so he traveled to this year's Game Developers Conference to check it out for himself. 

April 2023- 

Our CEO and Founder, Paul Hsu, was featured in The CEO Series presented by Salvi Media. Paul chatted about what motivates him daily and his journey to Venture Captial and Web3. Thank you again, William Salvi and Salvi Media!

Decasonic announced our partnership with NEAR Foundation to revolutionize early-stage founder support in Web3. NEAR Horizon is an accelerator program designed to be a launchpad to success for the next generation of Web3 entrepreneurs.

May 2023- 

Decasonic was thrilled to introduce Grace Casey, as our Marketing Manager. With a keen understanding that the path to global mainstream adoption for web3 requires a strategic rebrand, Grace brings a wealth of insights and expertise to our team. Explore more about Grace’s background here.

Decasonic co-hosted aiPalooza with Drive Capital. This event brought together industry experts. Paul Hsu engaged in a conversation with Betsy Ziegler, CEO of 1871, and Landon W. Campbell, General Manager at Drive Capital, discussing the future of AI and its potential to shape new products, business models, and industry leaders.

June 2023-

Venture Investor, Lauren Tierney, attended Collision Conference in Toronto and joined a panel with Joyce Yang, Steven Chien, and Jarrod Barnes. They discussed the current state of web3 and shared valuable insights on building thriving ecosystems in this market. Special thanks to the NEAR Foundation for the invitation!

Paul Hsu took to the stage alongside Julie Fellows & Patrick B. Martinez at MoneyLIVE North America and discussed the ever-evolving financial industry and embracing digital transformation.

July 2023- 

Decasonic founder and CEO, Paul Hsu, sat down with Rosemarie Miller at Forbes TV to answer the hard-hitting questions about innovation in web3 and around mainstream adoption.

Decasonic hosted the Second Annual Web3 Investor Day at Lincoln Yards. Web3 Investor Day 2023 was full of insights from web3 thought leaders, investors, and founders! Thank you again to our partners: Bridge Alternatives, Nasdaq, Sterling Bay, & World Business Chicago.

August 2023-

September 2023-

Paul Hsu spoke with Carol Massar and Tim Stenovec on Bloomberg Radio about the intersection of Web3, AI, and the Metaverse.

Decasonic’s Blockchain for the Billions Season 2 went LIVE! Our inaugural episode, titled ‘Aligning Incentives to Rally Community: Online and Offline,’ featuring Laura Cunningham, launched on September 21st. Listen here.

Paul Hsu took a trip to Paris, France! He had the pleasure of attending the "After-Hours AI x Gaming Gathering" hosted by Scenario to connect with fellow investors, valued partners, and new friends.

Venture Investor Lauren Tierney and Marketing Manager Grace Casey took to the stage at the inaugural ETHChicago event, where they shared their insights on 'The Future of Commerce' in a keynote presentation.

October 2023-

Paul Hsu attended the Sustainability Leaders Dinner, courtesy of S2G Ventures and Builders Vision. The event focused on addressing the conversation around the climate change challenge. Additionally, he participated in the Chicago International Gala, hosted by Chicago Sister Cities International and the World Business Chicago, which celebrated the outstanding work of the consular corps.

Paul Hsu headed to San Francisco to speak at the CoinAlts conference, where he joined the 'Thinking In Bets: The Decision Makers’ Perspective on Avoiding the Hype and Finding Value' panel. Meanwhile, Danny Pantuso stayed in Chicago to share insights on AI-powered investing at the Chicago AI Conference.

Decasonic was named to Inc. Magazine’s prestigious Founder-Friendly Investors list. The list honors leaders in finance who have maintained a stellar track record of success and consistent support for entrepreneurs.

November 2023-

Paul Hsu joined the Polsky Center at the University of Chicago and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to share his perspectives and experiences in building life changing products, from dot com venture capital in Silicon Valley, to social games with Zynga in Tokyo and present day blockchain in Chicago with Decasonic.

Venture investor, Danny Pantuso, touched down in Paris to check out AI-Pulse, hosted by Scaleway. He stopped into STATION F to connect with Emmanuel de Maistre, CEO and Founder of Scenario and Florent Simon of Play Ventures. In the dynamic French ecosystem, open source AI takes center stage, and we are excited to immerse ourselves in the thriving community.

Decasonic hosted our second annual Web3 Frensgiving in collaboration with Cube, bringing together the vibrant Chicago web3 community. During this celebration, Venture Investor Lauren Tierney took the stage on a panel alongside Jordan Pierce and Beatriz de Souza Kauffmann, delving into insightful discussions about the Future Economies driven by advancements in AI.

December 2023-

In December, Decasonic embraced the spirit of appreciation, recognizing the invaluable contributions of individuals, organizations, founders, and builders who propel us toward excellence. Our collaboration with Croke Fairchild Duarte & Beres resulted in the Crypto Leaders Holiday Luncheon, an early December gathering that celebrated the achievements of the crypto community.

Later in the month, Decasonic, alongside Distributed Ventures and Croke Fairchild Duarte & Beres, came together to host the VC Leaders Holiday Dinner, providing a festive setting for networking and acknowledging the collective successes of the venture capital landscape.
