2025 Recap

Reflect on some of Decasonic's favorite memories of 2025!

Thank you for following along during a year that accelerated our work with AI and brought us close to some other top people also innovating in AI. We're endlessly appreciative of this community.

Join us in reflecting on some of our favorite memories of 2025!

2025 was a defining year of compounding our work as an AI-native venture firm at Decasonic.

In 2025, as Web3 and AI continued to accelerate, we dedicated our efforts in matching that acceleration.  We invested deeply in building and innovating AI into how we operate, assess markets, and support founders.

January 2025 -

We began the year by grounding ourselves in clarity. Decasonic shared perspectives on how we approach the evolving Web3 x AI supercycle in Our 2025 Outlook. We also published The Altcoin Spectrum, framing how we evaluate altcoins across utility, coordination, and durability as part of our broader Web3 x AI investment lens.

January also brought global and local engagement as Paul joined long-time builders at Satoshi Roundtable in Dubai while our team spoke at the 1871 Fintech Innovation Summit on AI, Web3, and fintech disruption. We also kicked off bi-weekly Web3 x AI conversations through our X Spaces, inviting builders to join us in our bi-weekly conversation on Web3 x AI on our X account.

February 2025 -

February reinforced our belief that AI-native investing requires structural understanding. We published Market Leadership in the Web3 x AI Supercycle across DeFi x AI, SocialFi x AI, and RWA x AI , pairing market maps with product-level analysis to highlight where durable builders are actually forming.

Paul and Abdul headed to ETH Denver where we co-hosted Connect and Recharge alongside ecosystem partners to bring founders and investors together around sustainable growth. During the week, Paul also shared insights at a Silicon Valley Bank private event, grounding conversations in how founders navigate capital, regulation, and infrastructure through an AI-first lens.

March 2025 -

March marked an important internal milestone as Eugene Tsai joined Decasonic as Venture Data Analyst, strengthening how we turn data into actionable insight across our investment process, which he shared more about in this blog. His work reflects a broader thesis we have held for years: AI-native funds must treat data as a core operating layer.

Abdul attended ETH San Francisco and shared reflections on how AI is increasingly embedded into Web3 infrastructure, which we expanded on in our blog on The State of AI x Web3 from ETH SF. Paul also deepened this work through Web3 x AI Adoption Scenarios 2025 - 2030, mapping how attention, trust, and coordination evolve over time.

April 2025 -

April brought a global perspective as Abdul attended Token2049 Dubai and distilled key learnings on market structure and adoption in our Six Takeaways blog. These insights reinforced how AI-driven coordination is reshaping global crypto markets beyond speculative cycles.

Back in Chicago, Decasonic joined the Web3 Hot Topic Breakout Panel at the 1871 Emerging Tech Summit where Abdul explored how investment strategies are evolving across Web3 and adjacent sectors. We also shared the theme for our Fourth Annual Web3 Investor Day, Full Speed Ahead, and announced our partnership with TechChicago Week through our official Investor Day announcement blog.

May 2025 -

May was about building from within. As product-first investors, Decasonic deployed AI agent teammates to become AI-native in our own operations, reflecting our belief that venture firms should operate the way they expect founders to build.

We also launched our Blog Series: Web3 x AI Ecosystems to map builders and opportunities across emerging ecosystems, starting with Base and Sui.

Paul and Abdul attended Consensus Toronto where Paul shared key takeaways on market structure and adoption from the event. The team also visited World Business Chicago to engage in conversations on inclusive growth and AI upskilling, connecting local ecosystems to global AI adoption.

June 2025 -

June centered on depth and reflection. Paul spoke at Chicago AI Week on the future of decentralized intelligence and Web3 x AI reshapes global coordination, trust, and innovation. He also delivered a keynote at DePaul University’s Driehaus College of Business, engaging faculty and business school leadership on the State of AI, the future of work, and how AI-native talent can leapfrog early in their careers through hands-on experimentation and founder-led execution.

Paul also shared lessons from navigating the Web3 startup journey through Cointelegraph Accelerator, offering an unfiltered look at founder realities. Our research this month explored Network Effects in SocialFi, Predictive Signals for Network Effects, and AI x Web3 Use Cases. We also featured our intern Brendon’s contribution through his blog on Build to Belong: 50 Ways to Embrace Web3 x AI in 2025.

July 2024 -

July marked our Fourth Annual Web3 Investor Day, co-hosted with Bridge Alternatives, Sterling Bay, VanEck, and New Form Liquid, bringing together founders, investors, and ecosystem leaders during TechChicago Week. During the event, we launched AI Emma, our AI networking concierge and 80th teammate, as part of our continued journey toward AI-native operations.

We shared reflections from the day through full panel videos, Abdul’s highlights from the Web3 x AI panel, and Paul’s reflections from the VIP reception. Together, these moments captured the depth of conversation and community that defined this year’s Investor Day.

August 2025 -

August spotlighted how we operate as an AI-native firm as Paul shared how Decasonic approaches AI building AI and how our firm now operates with over 100 AI teammates alongside four human teammates. We expanded on this work in our AI Building AI blog, detailing how internal systems shape better investing outcomes.

These conversations reinforced the importance of regulatory clarity and coordinated innovation.

We reflected on this work in Power of Community in the Web3 x AI Era. and co-hosted Web3 x AI FrensGiving with Norton Rose Fulbright, featuring a panel on AI patents and our journey toward provisional IP protection. You can watch the panel recap here and read Paul’s reflection here.

We also published long-form reflections on our AI operating system, explored on-chain data as a foundational layer for AI-native systems, and released BNB Chain market maps in both English and Mandarin to support a global builder audience.

December 2025 -

We closed the year with leadership as our guiding theme. Abdul attended Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai and shared insights on global AI adoption, while Paul reflected on U.S.–China tech cooperation and Hong Kong’s role in shaping the future of AI during the Hong Kong Holiday Reception in Chicago.
