January 2024 -
Decasonic started the year with the release of Our 2024 Outlook, a blog outlining the trends shaping blockchain, Web3, and AI. Alongside this, AI and Web3’s Ethical Alliance and Empowering Multimedia Creativity in the Web3 Era explored how emerging technologies intersect to drive creativity and impact.
Paul Hsu shared insights in TechCrunch with the article How to Partner with a Venture Investor Who Values Technology Innovators. The month also included the Chicago VC Breakfast and 1871 Web3 Summit Innovation Lab, where we connected with innovators driving the next wave of Web3 adoption.

In February, we released 12 Case Studies to Build Durable Tokens, which detailed strategies for designing tokens with lasting impact.
March 2024 -
March marked an exciting milestone as Kathy Tong joined Decasonic as a Quantitative Venture Investor, bringing her expertise in finance and data analytics to support our investment strategy. Learn more about Kathy’s journey here.
Paul Hsu headed to ETH Denver, where Decasonic and MG Stover LLC hosted a well-received lunch gathering that brought together builders and visionaries in the Web3 space. Later in the month, Paul was honored to serve as a judge at the GalaChain Hackathon, spotlighting blockchain talent and breakthrough projects on the horizon.
April 2024 -
April took Decasonic to the global stage. Paul Hsu shared insights on the future of Web3 adoption at Metaverse Canada, emphasizing opportunities for mainstream adoption. He then visited the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, where fintech and blockchain collaboration took center stage.
Paul also traveled to Dubai for Token 2049, participating in thought leadership discussions on digital asset innovation. Closer to home, he represented Decasonic at Startup Chicago by World Business Chicago, reaffirming our commitment to supporting Chicago’s vibrant startup ecosystem and its role as a global innovation hub.

This month, Decasonic engaged with elite investors at the Elite RIA & Family Office Investment Opportunities Summit, exploring the intersection of traditional finance and Web3.
Our blog, SocialFi Market Map, shed light on how decentralized platforms are reshaping social networks with user-centric models. Additionally, Decasonic portfolio company Anomaly raised $1.45M, a milestone highlighted in the VentureBeat article.
June 2024 -
Decasonic welcomed Rizza Torres as our Marketing Manager, whose background in building impactful, relatable narratives further strengthens our mission to drive Web3 adoption. Learn more about Rizza here.
The team attended Consensus Austin, where the brightest minds in blockchain gathered to share insights, progress, and vision for the future.
Paul joined VC Day Chicago to connect with founders and fellow venture investors committed to supporting Chicago’s innovation ecosystem.
July 2024 -
July brought opportunities to celebrate Chicago's growth in tech and Web3 at Techicago, an event championing the city’s dynamic startup scene. Meanwhile, Kathy Tong spoke at Chicago Web3 Con and 1871, sharing insights on the intersection of AI and Web3.

This month featured the Third Annual Web3 Investor Day, co-hosted by Decasonic, Bridge Alternatives, and Sterling Bay. The event brought together investors, founders, and industry leaders to explore durable Web3 innovation and foster meaningful connections.

The team traveled to Token 2049 Singapore, where they joined global leaders shaping the future of blockchain and decentralized technology.

October was a month of thought leadership and collaboration. Paul Hsu spoke at the CoinAlts Symposium in San Francisco, where he joined a panel on navigating hype and identifying value in Web3. He also participated in SF Bitkraft Summit and SF Fund Week, connecting with leaders across gaming, digital assets, and venture capital.
We released our Soneium Ecosystem Market Map, the first published by a venture fund, and Paul provided insights to PitchBook in LPs Bearish on VC Opportunity Funds.
November 2024 -
Paul Hsu attended an evening at the British Consulate-General Chicago to discuss global leadership in AI, blockchain, and digital innovation because global leadership starts local, through deep relationships and community involvement. To close the month, we hosted our annual Web3 FrensGiving, celebrating community and collaboration within Chicago’s Web3 ecosystem.
As political tides shift in the U.S., Paul Hsu was asked how this will impact the crypto and AI sectors in a WSJ VC article.

We closed the year with gratitude and celebration. Decasonic, alongside Croke Fairchild Duarte & Beres, hosted the Crypto Leaders Holiday Luncheon, bringing together the Chicago crypto community to celebrate the year’s milestones. Later in the month, Decasonic participated in 1871’s Global Fintech Week, reinforcing our commitment to building a better tomorrow through technology and innovation.
